Are you aware that in the spirit, there are many lands that each of us are called to possess? In the Old Testament, there were physical lands, and in the New Testament, there are spiritual lands that God wants you to possess. The word possess comes from the Hebrew word which means: “to keep in control, to influence, to dispossess, to occupy, and to expel.” However, the definition I love the most is this one. It also means, “to occupy by driving out previous tenants, and possessing in their place.”
So we see here that God never expects us to cohabit. On the contrary, He wants us to, “dispossess and possess.” That is why we are called to possess spiritual lands. And today, the land that I want to talk about is the land of favor.
In Gen 26:12, we see that when Issac sowed during a time of famine and difficulty, his life began to prosper, because of the favor that was on his life. Here, we see very clearly, that the blessing was stronger, and far superior than the famine. And the Bible says that we are just like Issac, (Gal 4:28). This means that God expects the same blessings and favor that were flowing in Issac’s life, to flow in your life also too.
So what is favor? Favor is when God, raises up someone, to use their strength, resources, and connections, to help you fulfill your destiny. It might be a friend, family member or a complete stranger. But God is the one doing it. He is the catalyst. This is because you were never supposed to fulfill your destiny all by yourself. And God has already raised up millions of people around the world, and in your community, to help you.
Yes, millions of people around the world, and in your neighborhood, have already received the signal of the Holy Ghost, to help you fulfill your destiny.
And I am telling you, I am excited about it. Because God has already breathed on people’s hearts to provoke them to use their resources, connections, and everything they have to bless YOU! The key now, is to locate those people that God has set in motion to favor you.
We see an example of this in Isaiah 45:1-5. This is about a king named Cyrus. Cyrus wasn’t a man of God. He wasn’t even a king of Israel. He was a man that God anointed and raised up for Israel’s sake to bless them. Here is what the Bible says.
Isaiah 45:1-2 “Thus saith the Lord to his anointed, to Cyrus, whose right hand I have holden, to subdue nations before him, And I will loose the loins of kings, to open before him the two leaved gates; and the gates shall not be shut; I will go before thee, and make the crooked places straight: I will break in pieces the gates of brass, and cut in sunder the bars of iron.”
In verse 3, we see the promise that God made to this heathen king.
“And I will give thee the treasures of darkness, and hidden riches of secret places, that thou mayest know that I, the Lord, which call thee by thy name, am the God of Israel.”
Then, in the next two verses God says, “For Jacob My servant’s sake, and Israel mine elect, I have even called thee. I am the Lord, and there is none else, there is no God beside me: I girded thee, though thou hast not known me.”
God says, “Cyrus, I am raising you up, and anointing you, so you can bless My people.”
As I mentioned, favor is when God, raises up a person, to use their power, connections, and substance to bless you. And God has so many people that He has anointed, to do just that.
That is why it is important to position yourself, so you can connect with your Cyrus. Some folks do not know how to do that, and they struggle through life. Because we see in this verse, that even though Cyrus did not know God, He still called him. And even though he did not worship God, God still ordained him, to help His people.
God Favors Those Who Help You.
” The Lord is on my side; I will not fear: what can man do unto me? The Lord taketh my part with them that help me: therefore, shall I see my desire upon them that hate me.”
Psalms 118:6-7
In this verse, we see how confident David was in the Lord, knowing that He would help him, and even use others to bless him. Similarly, God will also move on people’s hearts to help you, and we as a ministry, have seen so many testimonies of that.
One testimony that is dear to my heart, is when I first became a Christian. Because I had just come to Canada, I could not work. But during that time, God moved on the hearts of my pastor, and the church board, to pay for three years of my Bible college. That wonderful church paid for my rent, my books and my tuition. Since that time, God has continued to open so many doors of favour in our lives. And He has also used us, to be a blessing to others.
I can also remember a time back in 2003, when we were headed to Zimbabwe with our team for a crusade, but were trusting God for the finances to make it happen. A few weeks prior to this, the Lord brought a woman to our church with a need. She had close to half a million American dollars locked up in investments in a foreign country, and could not access the funds. So she came for prayer. To make a long story short, all the money was released to her, and she wrote me a cheque for $30,000. It was enough to cover all the expenses of the trip. Isn’t Jesus wonderful? I am telling you, God has so many people that He has raised up, to help you do what He asked you to do. Because, as I mentioned earlier, favor is when God, raises up someone, to use their substance, strength, resources, and connections, to help you fulfill your destiny.
My friend, you were never supposed to fulfill your destiny all by yourself. Just like Jesus needed His disciples, they also needed Him. We need each other, because frustration comes into your life, when you try to fulfill your destiny all by yourself. That is why God will send people to help you.
In that same crusade I mentioned in Zimbabwe, thousands of people were healed. But one of the miracles that stood out to me, in my mind, was a two year old boy, who was in a coma. He was the mayor’s firstborn son. As we went to pray with him, he was completely healed. His tongue went back into his mouth, and he immediately came out of the coma. I share these testimonies with you for a reason, because we are connected through partnership. And everything God is doing in this ministry, He will do for you. Therefore, do not allow the temporary discouragement to get to you. Wake up and shake yourself off, and keep moving forward, because God has great things in store for you.
As I bring this letter to a close, I want to thank you again for standing with my wife and I, as we take this Gospel around the world. As you sow your sacrificial seed today, I declare that the blessing of the Lord will be upon you, and that favor will come upon everything you lay your hands upon. So, until next time, keep smiling, and always remember that you are a favored child!
Love and Blessings,
